Inside Ryder Truck Rental's PCI compliance project

For Ryder Truck Rental, a company that processes transactions and handles the sales of truck parts, it's essential that customer credit card data is protected. In mid- to late-2007, Gonzalez, director of IT, GRC and network operations at the trucking and logistics organization, kicked off a PCI project aimed at addressing any credit card exposures.

Gonzalez gave a presentation at Infosec World 2010 in Orlando, where he offered the audience a look at the technology and processes changes that were necessary for Ryder Truck Rental to become PCI compliant. The initiative is an ongoing, "in-flight" compliance program. After his session, he spoke to SearchMidmarketSecurity.com about the relief of outsourcing, the challenges of working with your auditor and the framework he has set up for future regulations.
